What Happened?

Shares of cloud data platform provider Snowflake (NYSE:SNOW) jumped 20.6% in the morning session after the company reported second-quarter 2026 financial results and raised its full-year product revenue forecast.

Taking a closer look at the quarter, revenue reached $1.55 billion, up 35% year on year, driven by product revenue of $1.48 billion, which grew 37%, the company reported in an official press release.

CFO Brian Robins tied the acceleration to strength in the core data platform and a meaningful step-up in AI revenue. CoCo, the company’s AI coding agent, surpassed 9,100 accounts after adding more than 2,000 in the quarter, while CoWork expanded to 5,800 accounts. Adjusted earnings were $0.62 per share, beating the $0.45 consensus, and non-GAAP operating margin expanded to 15.3%. Remaining performance obligations grew 30% to $9.00 billion, and net revenue retention was 126%.

Looking ahead, management raised its full-year product revenue target to $6.07 billion, implying 36% growth, from a prior forecast of $5.84 billion, or 31%. It also lifted its full-year non-GAAP operating margin outlook to 14.5% from 13.5%. For the third quarter, Snowflake projected product revenue of $1.588 billion to $1.593 billion. Following the results, Bank of America reiterated its Buy rating, as reported by CNBC. The firm noted that Snowflake “has plenty of room for growth following earnings.”.

What Is The Market Telling Us

Snowflake’s shares are very volatile and have had 24 moves greater than 5% over the last year. But moves this big are rare even for Snowflake and indicate this news significantly impacted the market’s perception of the business.

The previous big move we wrote about was 2 days ago when the stock dropped 3.7% on the news that a sharp jump in benchmark Treasury yields and surging crude oil prices stoked renewed concerns over inflation.

Global bond yields climbed as elevated oil prices fueled concern that the Federal Reserve may need to lift rates, Bloomberg reported. The 10-year U.S. Treasury yield moved to a 20-month high near 4.79% after U.S.-Iran strikes around the Strait of Hormuz, according to CNBC.

Because many SaaS valuations rest on cash flows expected far in the future, a higher long-end yield lifts the discount rate on those earnings; the oil spike reinforces the case that borrowing costs may stay elevated for longer.

Snowflake is up 70.4% since the beginning of the year, and at $369.28 per share, it has set a new 52-week high. Investors who bought $1,000 worth of Snowflake’s shares 5 years ago would now be looking at an investment worth $1,191.
