The registered UK charity operates the Salaam Centre in Cairo, which serves as a lifeline for Palestinian and Sudanese families who have escaped war and persecution. Since October 2023, over 100,000 Palestinians have made the dangerous journey into Egypt, whilst more than 300,000 people have fled Sudan following the outbreak of conflict.
The charity provides weekly food parcel distributions to hundreds of families, emergency legal assistance, including asylum workshops, and support with rent and living expenses. Mental health services are also available, addressing the severe trauma experienced by refugee children who have witnessed the devastating effects of war.
Educational support forms a key part of the organisation's mission, with programmes helping Palestinian medical students complete their studies in Egyptian universities. Many of these students have lost family members and suffered significant trauma, yet maintain dreams of qualifying as doctors and returning to serve their homeland.
